Catering Equipment - WEEE Directive

16th Jan 2009

The environment is more important that ever and Harmony wants to support these objectives.

We are a member of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) which sets collection, recycling and recovery targets for all types of electrical goods.

The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) came into force in January 2007. The WEE Directive aims to both reduce the amount of electrical and electronic equipment being produced and to encourage everyone to reuse, recycle and recover it. The WEEE Directive also aims to improve the environmental performance of businesses that manufacture, supply, use, recycle and recover electrical and electronic equipment. As an supplier of catering equipment, laundry equipment and epos systems Harmony complies with the UK's WEEE Regulations, which in part implement the WEEE Directive.

If you business needs to keep records of disposal of your catering equipment please contact us and we can help you. For many businesses the disposal of commericial fridges is something that causes a problem. Many disposal companies charge hundreds of pounds to collect and dispose of these items. Harmony can also help with this providing clear documentation that they have been diposed properly, and in an environmentally safe way. This is also the case for all other commerical catering, laundry and eops equipment.
